Pick-up around 8:00 am at your hotel or riad in Essaouira (we can also pick you up at the airport). Departure in a private air-conditioned vehicle.

Marrakech, the red city: Jemaa el-Fna square, the Koutoubia mosque and the souks of the medina.

We cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m), with viewpoints over valleys, adobe Berber villages and peaks that are snow-capped in winter.

Walking visit of the ksar of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the setting for films such as Gladiator and series such as Game of Thrones. We climb up to the fortified granary to see the whole Ounila valley.

Ouarzazate, the “gateway to the desert”: view of the Taourirt Kasbah and the Atlas film studios, where dozens of international productions have been shot.

We stop for lunch at a local restaurant on the way (lunch not included) and for photos at the viewpoints you like best.

Arrival in Ouarzazate in the afternoon and overnight at the accommodation.

In Zagora the camel ride to the camp among the dunes awaits us, in time for sunset. Traditional dinner, Berber music by the fire and a night in a tent.

We get up early to watch the sunrise from the top of the dunes. Breakfast at the camp and return by camel (or 4x4) to the guesthouse, where there are showers and we pick up the luggage. Departure towards Agdz.

The tour ends in Marrakech, at your hotel, riad or the airport. If you'd rather finish in another city, we adapt the route.

Does the price depend on the number of people?

Yes. The “from” price is per person and varies with group size, season and accommodation category. The larger the group, the cheaper it is per person.

What should I bring for the night in the desert?

A small backpack with what you need for one night: warm clothes (it gets cool at night, especially from November to March), a torch or charged phone, a power bank, sunglasses, sunscreen, a scarf for the sand and comfortable shoes. Your big luggage stays at the guesthouse or in the vehicle.

Does the camp have a bathroom?

The superior and luxury camps have tents with a private bathroom and shower. At the standard camp the bathrooms are shared. Tell us which you prefer when booking.

Is this tour suitable for children and older people?

Yes. As it's a private tour, we adapt the pace, the stops and the length of the camel ride. We can also replace the camel with a 4x4 if you prefer.
