Pick-up at your hotel, riad or Marrakech airport. A day to discover Marrakech (with an optional official local guide). In the morning we visit the Koutoubia mosque (exterior), the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs and the Ben Youssef madrasa. After lunch we wander through the souks of the medina —spices, leather, lamps, carpets— and finish in Jemaa el-Fna square, which at nightfall fills with food stalls, musicians and storytellers. Optional: Majorelle Garden.

A day dedicated to Fes (you can do it with an official local guide, highly recommended in this medina).

We enter the Fes el-Bali medina through the blue Bab Bou Jeloud gate and lose ourselves in its more than 9,000 alleys: the Bou Inania and Attarine madrasas, the Nejjarine fountain, the exterior of Al Qarawiyyin university (the oldest in the world) and the famous Chouara tanneries, seen from the terraces. In the afternoon we visit the golden gates of the Royal Palace and the Jewish quarter (Mellah), and climb up to Borj Sud to see the whole city at sunset.

Breakfast and departure from Fes towards Ifrane.

Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco”: an alpine town with red roofs, gardens and lakes in the heart of the Middle Atlas.

Midelt, between the Middle and High Atlas, famous for its apples and minerals.

The Ziz Gorges and Valley, a canyon with a vast palm grove considered one of the most beautiful in Morocco.

We stop for lunch at a local restaurant on the way (lunch not included) and for photos at the viewpoints you like best.

In the late afternoon we arrive in Merzouga, where the camel caravan is waiting. We leave the big luggage at the guesthouse and, with a small backpack, cross the Erg Chebbi dunes by camel (approx. 1 h 30 min) as the sun sets over the Sahara. Arrival at the camp, welcome tea, Berber dinner and music around the fire under a sky full of stars.

We get up early to watch the sunrise from the top of the dunes. Breakfast at the camp and return by camel (or 4x4) to the guesthouse, where there are showers and we pick up the luggage. Departure towards the Todra Gorge.

Walk through the Todra Gorge, a canyon with walls up to 300 metres high and a crystal-clear river, a paradise for climbers.

The Dades Gorge and its famous mountain bends, with reddish rock formations (“the monkey fingers”) and villages perched above the river.

Walking visit of the ksar of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the setting for films such as Gladiator and series such as Game of Thrones. We climb up to the fortified granary to see the whole Ounila valley.

We cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m), with viewpoints over valleys, adobe Berber villages and peaks that are snow-capped in winter.

Marrakech, the red city: Jemaa el-Fna square, the Koutoubia mosque and the souks of the medina.

Yes. All our routes from Marrakech are private tours, with a vehicle exclusively for your group, a professional driver/guide and flexible schedules.

What is included in the price?

Usually private air-conditioned transport, driver/guide, fuel, accommodation along the route and WhatsApp assistance are included. We confirm all details before you book.

Can the accommodation be standard or luxury?

Yes. We offer standard, superior and luxury accommodation. We can also book luxury desert camps with a private bathroom if you wish.

When is the best time for desert routes?

The best time is usually from September to May, when temperatures are more pleasant. We also organise routes in summer, adapting times and stops for greater comfort.

What time does the tour start and where do you pick us up?

We usually leave around 8:00 am. We pick you up at your hotel or riad in Marrakech; if you arrive by plane the same day, we can pick you up at the airport and adjust the departure time.

How many hours of driving are there each day?

Approximate driving times, not counting stops: day 2: 3 h; day 3: 5 h 45 min; day 4: 3 h 30 min; day 5: 4 h 30 min; day 7: 7 h 45 min; day 8: 4 h 30 min; day 9: 2 h 30 min; day 10: 4 h 30 min. We stop whenever you need for photos, a rest or a meal.

You can choose standard, superior or luxury category.

Where does the tour end?

The tour ends in Marrakech, at your hotel, riad or the airport. If you'd rather finish in another city, we adapt the route.

How do I book?

Does the price depend on the number of people?

Yes. The “from” price is per person and varies with group size, season and accommodation category. The larger the group, the cheaper it is per person.

What should I bring for the night in the desert?

A small backpack with what you need for one night: warm clothes (it gets cool at night, especially from November to March), a torch or charged phone, a power bank, sunglasses, sunscreen, a scarf for the sand and comfortable shoes. Your big luggage stays at the guesthouse or in the vehicle.

Does the camp have a bathroom?

The superior and luxury camps have tents with a private bathroom and shower. At the standard camp the bathrooms are shared. Tell us which you prefer when booking.

Is this tour suitable for children and older people?

Yes. As it's a private tour, we adapt the pace, the stops and the length of the camel ride. We can also replace the camel with a 4x4 if you prefer.
